I told you a while ago I would do some form of a facebook rant; and I’ve finally got around to it.

So, in no particular order, here are my top five Facebook hates:

          1. “Inbox me”. 

NO!  Inbox THEM for fucks sake!!!!!!!

Nothing pisses me off more than when I see “Inbox me” as a status. No-one cares that you have no one to piss o- I mean talk to. Just is bad is when someone replies to a status with “inbox me”. Please, PLEASE, just inbox THEM!!!

The other day I saw this status: “OMG we need to have a d@m! Inbox me!”.

…………..RAAAAAAAGE!!!!!!!! INBOX THEM THE FIRST SENTENCE GOD DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!

          2. Friend suggestion from ‘friends’.

You may have suspected ‘Adding randoms’ as one of my top hates, but surprisingly it isn’t. What really annoys me is when you think you’re getting a friend invite, but then it turns out one of your friends (who you never even talk to) suggests that you add some pasty red-headed kid who you have never met in my life. WHAT?! Honestly, what would incline someone to send me that? I literally NEVER talk to the person, and yet they feel that they should suggest I add some pasty little biz-nitch. PUCK YOU!

          3. Spamming the wall with obnoxious crap

I have a story to tell you for this one. Once upon a time my friend’s ex-girlfriend added me on facebook.  I accepted the friend request and unbeknownst to me, this girl was a wall spammer. Not even a funny wall spammer, a, hey, I’m going to tell everyone about every aspect of my personal life, spammer. One day this particular girl changed her facebook name, multiple times, and each time she sent me a friend request, multiple times. I didn’t accept her request, multiple times. And they all lived happily ever after. The End.

See; obnoxious spam is obnoxious! =P

(Have you ever noticed that these are the people who just like to have really pathetic conversations with you? The ones that five minutes after the usual pleasantries, will ask ‘how are you’ again. I find the best response is to simply press a few buttons (so it will say ‘… is typing’) and walk away from the keyboard for five minutes, only to eventually reply with a simple ‘kk’.)

           4. The Facebook home page.

I’m sorry Mr Home-page, but were you created by a hyperactive child? Seriously, just calm the fuck down. I just want the wall and a simple chat bar. By the way, why the fuck are posts now called ‘stor[ies]’ now anyway? Literally no-one likes the new Facebook set up so just stop it.

           5. “Goodnight Facebook”

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, there you have it. Those are my top five facebook hates.

If someone comes to your house and punches you in the spleen repeatedly, you’ve probably broken more than one of these things. So please, try to abstain from doing any of those five things.

This week I’ll be introducing you to Ryan Adams and some of his wonderful music.

I would usually tell you something about Ryan Adams, but apart from what Wikipedia says, I actually don’t know that much about him. I’ve been listening him for a few years now, but I suppose I just haven’t got around to researching him.

Moving on though, the song I would like to show you this week is ‘La Cienega just smiled’.

La Cienega Just Smiled is definitely one of the most beautiful Ryan Adams songs. He has actually written a lot of great music so you should definitely check him out.

You know that song Wonderwall? Yeah, that overrated, overplayed one. Well, Ryan Adams has a great cover of it. Great enough to redeem the song itself (Is that possible!?!?!). Check it out.

Well If you’d just let me finish the sentence…..

This week I actually have a happy song to share with you… hooray!

I found about this song from a YouTube COD video, so that’s a little embarrassing, but oh well. “Got My Own Thing Now” is a sort of jazzy big band song, and is definitely not meant to be taken seriously. It’s like one of those songs in some cheesy 60’s movie where everyone is dancing around in that lame sort of 60’s fashion. Anyway you’ll hear that for yourself.  

If only these guys were around in the 50’s or 60’s, they would have been much more popular. Unfortunately this was a 90’s release; a time when Backstreet Boys and an array of other crappy artist reign supreme…..

Not the most serious music selection this week, but I hope you enjoyed it none the less.

Hey guys.

My Maths B assignment is due tomorrow, so naturally, I felt obligated to waste time by posting another “song of the week”.

This week is actually featuring two songs. I couldn’t decide between the two, so I just decided to put both in.

Woodkid is a relatively unknown band/artist in the music industry, but is most famous for having their song “Iron” featured in the “Assassins Creed Revelations” trailer. (Some game trailer, if you don’t know what that is).

The first song you should listen is “Brooklyn”. This is a really beautiful song, and his voice and pronunciation of words is the indiest shit. (Yes, he’s speaking fucking English)

The second song by Woodkid that I’m going to show you is “Iron”. Where the first song was sort of slow and beautiful, this one is fucking epic. (slow motion zoom epic =P). Anyway, you’ll hear that for yourself.

So, tell me what you think of the two songs, and better still, suggest some music for me

Hello gentlemen and the ladies.

(Actually I’m not sure if any ladies read this blog, but Daniel Little is known to on occasion so I suppose that counts =P)

Well moving on, I have another song that you should listen to!

Midlake is a rather awesome band, and they write some really nice songs. ‘Roscoe’ is one of their best songs, so go and check it out.

I actually emailed Midlake a couple a years ago just to tell them how great their music was, and the guitarist emailed me back quite surprisingly, thanking me for the support. So the band members in Midlake are really nice guys. (Just a bit of extra information there =P)

I could probably write an entire novel solely on how much I admire Sufjan, but I’ll try to keep this short.

(For any of you Sufjan fans out there who have listened to this song, just take this as a reminisce)

Casimir Pulalski Day is easily one of, if not the most beautiful song that Sufjan has written. It is from the album “Come on! Feel the illinoise!” and tells the story of a girl Sufjan admired that, I presume, died on the U.S holiday “Casimir Pulalski Day”. Listen to the lyrics of this song, because they are truly beautiful.

“Wtf Nick, why would you start posting now?”

 Well, it’s quite the story (not really, I lie).

So basically my normal morning routine consists of my mother waking me up several thousands of times (I swear to god, I’m surprised she doesn’t come into my room and beat the shit out of me sometimes), until I finally I do so, hop into the shower, get yelled at to hop out of the shower, get out of shower, get dressed, hop into bed again, get yelled at by my mother usually with the words “I don’t know what you’ve been doing down there this whole time” (If you can’t see my problem with that you’re not trying hard enough), wake up from my post-shower nap, eat, fuck around for five minutes on the guitar and then walk up to the bus stop.

This morning, however, I got up myself and didn’t have a long shower, irrelevance, etc…..

Irrelevance aside, the main reason for reopening my blog is actually some of my influences lately, with the first one being the website that I used to blog for: http://gaffesociety.wordpress.com/. Jesse, one of the writers of this blog, is a truly talented guy and his writing is just fantastic. His latest post, “Lev Grossman’s The Magician King is coming!!”, really inspired me to start writing again, so definitely check the website out and subscribe. If you look hard enough you can also find some old, shitty reviews of mine. (Mind you, If you look back on this blog you can find some truly awful crap also =P)

The second influence is the music I have been listening to lately. In particular music from the band “The Dinosaur Club”, whom I recently competed against in the rock band section of the eisteddfod (We came second to the them by one point). Anyway, the bassist of the band, James, has a Soundcloud website with some of the music that he does independently. You should go and listen to his song “Now Boarding”, and subscribe to his music. “Now Boarding” is a fun, trashy little pop song with lots of charm and gorgeous lyrics. As you all know the school year is just about to start, and as it if my final year, I will be heavily focused on my study.

Therefore I am just letting you know that I am calling off this blog for good, or at the least, for quite a while.

I may do some podcasts along the line, and perhaps write some articles for some other blogs, but overall, I’m pretty much done with blogging.

My fan base is rather tiny, but I thought that I should just let you guys know that I am going.

“Jesus Christ Nick, you’re just the little section whore aren’t you!”

Yes, I hear you. My section spread is pretty ricockulous, but oh well.

So before I get into it, basically “five” is a section that is five of anything. Five things I love/hate about something, five ways to do something, or in this case, five ways to become a successful rapper.

So here it is, follow my five steps, and you will become mainstream rap trash in no time!

1.       Dress like you are gangster sh*t.

Ahh, of course. To be a rapper you have to look the part; and everyone knows that all mainstream rappers are wannabe gangster sh*t. So please, slap on your bandana and douchebag cap (those flat ones), buy some over sized bling and clothes five sizes larger than our own, and of course, get some mad dog tribal tattoos. Dress like this and soon everyone will start to know that you are on your way to the top of the charts.

2.       Make some epic rhymes

Your limited vocabulary needs to write hardcore intense lyrics about pain, suffering, drugs, f*cking all the ladies or hanging out with your MC friends. Everyone knows that the only effective way of doing this is to make some epic rhymes. My person favourite rhyming of this year has to be the Eminem classic, “We’ll walk the road together…..(some unknown words)………. whatever weather”. WHAT-THE-F*CK.   

3.       Call your girlfriend “your bitch”.

Ahh, we have come to one of the most vital parts of becoming a rapper; having no respect for women. If you’re ever in a tight spot with your mates because you have to do something with your girlfriend, a quick and easy way of silencing their queries is to simply call your girlfriend “your bitch”. Here is a scenario.

               MC friend #1: Oi, we’re gonna go shoot some people. Comin’?

                                You: Can’t, I gotta go f*ck my bitch.            

                (MC friends approve. There are mad dog “oiiiii’s” and gangster hugs all round)

Problem solved! See, calling your girlfriend “your bitch” can get you out of some tight spots, as well as letting everyone around you know that you’re future rapper trash.

 4.       Do some crazy hand actions that make people suspect you’re retarded (until they find out your a rapper, that is)  

 Crazy arm and hand movements are key when you are breaking out that angry white boy rap solo. Enough said really.

 5.       Make up a rapper name for yourself

 After you have mastered all of these things, it is time for your final step to becoming a true rapper. Getting a rap name. You have to have a really mad dog name like Eminem, 50 cent, Jay-Z, Ice Cube or P.Diddy. So use your imagination and come up with a name that is “full gangsta bro”. Or, if you have parents that have already given you a name that is “full gangta bro”, just use that name. Retarded parental names are totally respected in the rap world.

 So there you have it. Follow these steps and you top the charts!

Hello everyone. Long time no see.

I had actually been contemplating just completely calling my blog off, but I decided against it. I know I have been completely disregarding it for a while now, but hopefully this post will be the start of some more regular material on this blog.

So you may be wondering just what I have been doing in my absence, and for those of you that don’t really give a damn, I’m going to tell you anyway.

In short, it would be summed up in “jack sh*t”. (Sorry, profanity) But in detail, mostly my time has been spent in finishing school, Black Ops, Black Ops, Black ops, music, reading unreviewable books (I’ll talk about that later), YouTube, music, Black Ops, Black Ops, and generally just a disgusting amount of Black Ops.

In a terrible segue (that’s how it’s spelt!!!!!!???), here are a bunch of things that mildly annoy me.

Those f*cking Cuponk advertisements on YouTube. Actually all YouTube advertisements piss me off, but the only one I see is freaking Cuponk. Throwing a Ping-Pong ball into a cup is not something that needs to be advertised, and you definitely don’t need to buy some ridiculous toy to do it. Just get a cup, get a Ping-Pong ball, and go ape shit.

The fact that all I saw on TV for about two weeks was f*cking Oprah. She is an amazing woman; there is no doubt about it. But the hype was pretty ridiculous. I could go on about this one for a while, but I’ll leave it be……. P.S: Oprah, the way to see the REAL Australia isn’t a barbeque on the beach manned by Curtis Stone.

Sesquipedalianists. Yes, mate, we can all use big words, so please just shut up.

I think it’s just a mental thing, but I just always seem to go terribly on these maps. And I really hate dying.

So you probably think I was pretty pissed off when I wrote that. But actually I had a pretty awesome day and was listening to a live set of The Whitlams at the Sydney Oprah House, so I was actually extremely relaxed. Today though, when I have mild reason to be annoyed, I don’t actually feel like raging at all.

So, on we go!

You probably noticed that Black Ops has been pretty prominent in my recent activities from my “jack sh*t” explanation. Yes, I have played a disgusting amount of Black Ops recently, but I think I have given it up for a while. The final decision for this was made from a combination of me going through my play history and realising that I spent ten and half hours on Black Ops in one day, and the knowledge that throughout this year, one of my friends spent a total of 34 days on COD 6. A whole f*cking month.

Those unreviewable books that I was talking about came in the form of Bryce Courtney’s “Aprils Fools Day”. It really is a just a wonderful book and it has a great message. I was going to do a review on it but I felt that reviewing a book that is autobiographical would be sort of like giving someone’s life a rating.

Anyway, this post hasn’t been very productive, but I hope you enjoyed it anyway. Hopefully I will be reviewing some stuff soon, but really you decide. Please comment with suggestions on what you want me to review or post in general. And also please tell me if you like the person stuff occasionally, or if you just want me to stick to reviewing.
